MODERN DEVELOPMENT OF COOPERATIVE SECTOR OF ECONOMY IN THE COUNTRIES EAST ASIA

This article discusses the distinctive features of the cooperative sector of the economy in some countries of East Asia (Japan, China and the Republic of South Korea). The main purpose of the article is to identify changes inherent to one or another type of cooperative. The relevance and novelty of the topic under consideration is to analyze the key trends of the modern cooperative movement in the last 2–3 years. The study found that in these countries, cooperative organizations focus their activities primarily on the interests of their shareholders, following basic cooperative values and principles. When considering the cooperative sector in Japan, attention was paid to the specifics of various types of cooperatives (agricultural, fishing, small and medium businesses, consumer and others), taking into account the size, legal framework and performance, as well as financial performance of the Japanese Cooperative Alliance. For the cooperative sector of the Republic of South Korea, a brief overview of the cooperative sector as a whole and the largest cooperative organizations was presented. In the development of the economy of the PRC, a cooperative system is of paramount importance, the reformation of which the government pays great attention to. This process is carried out in close connection with the formation of an online e-commerce platform, which is crucial to the performance indicators of cooperatives, primarily agricultural and supply and marketing, as the most numerous.
